“Currently, there is no possibility to carry out currency exchange operations, replenishment of currency cards, currency deposits, repayment of currency loans at the self-service terminal. To carry out operations, clients can contact the cash desk of the bank’s branch,” the press service of Privatbank informed the Ministry of Finance.

Until now, Privat was the only bank that provided its clients with its service. The bank did not explain whether they intend to resume this service later, as well as the reasons why they stopped providing it.

However, as experts explained to the Ministry of Finance, the problem is that clients often loaded old bills into the terminal.

“We launched such functionality in our kiosks in 2020 and closed it two months later. The reason is old bills. Alas, there is nowhere to put them except for collection. The result: they looked at what we were collecting from the market for two months, and closed this service,” Anton Tyutyun, a member of the board of Oschadbank (responsible for retail business), explained the problem.
