Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree giving Rosneft the right to conceal information about its financial activities. The document appeared on Monday on the official Internet portal of legal information.

In particular, “Rosneft” may now not publish information about the company’s income and expenses, its profits, dividends, shareholders, governing bodies, tax burden, developed projects and concluded agreements.

The mass media note that such a resolution is intended to help the company avoid sanctions, while the decree may lower the price of shares of Rosneft and its affiliated structures on the Moscow Exchange.

  • In August, Navalny’s team released an investigation, according to which the head of the state corporation “Rosneft” Igor Sechin, one of the closest businessmen to Vladimir Putin, is listed in the official register of the Federal Tax Service under the pseudonym “Sergey Andreevich Terentyev”. Thus, according to the investigation, Sechin hid his annual income of 3.3 billion rubles. The head of Rosneft did not comment on the publication.
