Putin will not be arrested at the G20 summit in 2024

Brazilian President Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva said that Vladimir Putin will not be arrested at the G20 summit in 2024 if he decides to personally participate in it. He confirmed that he invites the Russian president to the next meeting of the “20” in Rio de Janeiro and guarantees his safety.
This year, Putin did not come to the G20 summit in Delia. Russia was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov. Also, Putin did not attend the BRICS summit in Johannesburg: he participated in the meetings via video link.
On Saturday, the G20 countries adopted a declaration that did not directly condemn Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. The document says only that all states must act in accordance with the goals and principles of the UN Charter, refrain from threats and follow the principle of territorial integrity and political independence of any state.
