Refugees from Ukraine in the Czech Republic have already paid 8 billion crowns in taxes and counting

Citizens of Ukraine, who came to the Czech Republic after the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and found work in a new country for themselves, last year paid approximately 8 billion crowns in taxes to the state and counting. Last year, working refugees paid more than 4 billion kroner for medical insurance. The total sum of all those calculated is about 8 billion kroner. Thus, the aid that was paid from the state budget is gradually beginning to be returned, the official noted.
According to him, more than 171 thousand refugees worked in the Czech Republic. Currently, almost 100,000 new arrivals are working. Some people have already left the Czech Republic or are looking for another job.

Refugees who have a temporary protection visa can freely get a job in the Czech Republic, they do not need a work permit. However, employers must notify the Employment Center of their acceptance, as well as in the case of other foreigners. According to preliminary information, approximately 70% of employed Ukrainian refugees are women.
