The Polish government plans to accept all the farmers’ demands, which were put forward as a condition for not resuming the blockade of the “Medyka-Sheghini” checkpoint on the border with Ukraine from January 4.

“The Ministry accepts all three demands of farmers and accepts them for implementation,” he said.
Kolodziejczak reminded that it is about the demands of the “Podkarpacka Oszukana Wieś” (“Deceived Village”) organization, which must decide today whether to resume the protest at the “Medyka” crossing from January 4.
In particular, “Podkarpacka Oszukana Wieś” wants to introduce subsidies for corn and increase lending to farmers to 2.5 billion zlotys.
“We are talking about maintaining the agricultural tax at the level of 2023. It has increased – it depends on the price of rye. Here, amendments to the Law have been prepared, which must be adopted by the Seimas. Those local self-government bodies that agree to apply tax benefits (…) will receive state compensation “, – said Kolodziejczak.

Polish farmers from the “Deceited Village” organization said that from January 4 they are going to resume the blockade checkpoint “Medyka-Sheghini” on the border with Ukraine.
“We have not received written confirmation that our demands will be met, so we continue the protest,” said the leader of the organization, Roman Kondruv.
Kondruv promises that this time the protest will be tougher – only one truck per hour will be allowed through.
Polish farmers are demanding from the government corn subsidies, liquid loans for farmers and maintaining the agricultural tax at last year’s level.
Farmers from the “Deceited village” began to block the crossing in Medyka from November 23 of this year.
On December 24, they announced that they would suspend their protest action until the beginning of January, and if their demands are met, they may not resume it.
