Representatives of Hamas are visiting Moscow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday that a delegation of the radical Palestinian group Hamas is visiting Moscow. This was reported earlier by a source of the RIA Novosti agency in the Palestinian delegation. It was noted that it is headed by a member of the Hamas politburo, Abu Marzouk.

“I can say and confirm that the representatives of the Palestinian movement are on a visit to Moscow,” Maria Zakharova, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, said at the briefing. She did not give details. At the same time, Zakharova reported that Ali Baghera Kana, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, is also visiting Moscow now.

In Russia, the movement of Hamas is not prohibited and is not recognized as terrorist, as many countries have done, for example, the USA, Canada, Japan, Israel, the EU states. Group delegations regularly visit Moscow.
