The Ministry of Defense canceled additional payments of UAH 30,000 per month to servicemen and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, located outside the combat zone, and at the same time increased the amount of monetary compensation. Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov stated this in an interview with UP.

“This is a question of justice and, at the same time, budgetary ability… Let’s not forget about the budget – the war drags on, the second hour has passed, today many businesses do not work, taxes are not paid, and we need to buy weapons, the number of armed forces is huge, we need to provide them, equip them, ask and so on. Our budgetary possibilities are minus in relation to how much we earn,” explained the minister.
Reznikov emphasized that at the beginning of the Russian invasion, almost the entire country was a battlefield, and then it was expedient to pay surcharges to everyone, but now it is unfair.
“But then the following began. The fighters, who are actually on the “front”, in the most tense places, say: “We get paid there, and those who do nothing, “chicken bamboo,” get the same money — it’s unfair,” he noted.
Increase in cash allowance
Reznikov added that at the same time as the abolition of surcharges, the monetary allowance of military personnel will be increased.
“Earlier, an ordinary shooter received 13,000 hryvnias from us. By my order, we did the following: the shooter will receive a monetary allowance in the amount of 20 thousand hryvnias. And if he is on duty near the “front” on combat duty at a checkpoint, on another combat duty at the border – plus another 30,000. So he will have 50. If he is at zero, at the battalion level, then he will receive 120 thousand,” the minister said.
“But, excuse me, those who are in the rear and serve without risking anything – the shooter will receive 20 thousand hryvnias. 30,000 or 100,000 or more is unfairly paid to him,” Reznikov summarized.
Let’s remind
Earlier, the “Ministry of Finance” wrote that since February 1, Ukraine has changed the procedure for paying additional monetary compensation to servicemen who are outside the combat zone.
