Rosstat reported a record seven-year annual inflation rate of 11.9%

Consumer growth in Russia at the end of 2022, when the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began, amounted to 11.9%. This is a record value since 2015. This was reported by Rosstat.

Inflation in Russia reached peak values ​​- up to 17.8% – in the spring of 2022, immediately after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the introduction of the first packages of Western sanctions in response.

On average, food products traveled by 10.3% per hour. The price of milk and dairy products increased the most – by 15.2%, butter, pasta and fish – by more than 14%, sugar – by 13.5%, and bread – by almost 13%.

The growth of prices for non-food products by the end of 2022 amounted to 12.7%. Detergents and cleaning products traveled significantly more than others – by almost 30%. Prices for household appliances increased by 15.3%, for medicines – by 10.8%.

The cost of housing and communal services services increased by 11.6%: in 2022, the Russian government raised tariffs for them twice – the highest in the country by 6.5% in July and by 9% in December.

Services in the segment of foreign tourism grew by 70.7% after foreign airlines canceled flights to Russia, and European countries limited the issuance of visas to Russians in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

According to the forecasts of the Central Bank of Russia, inflation in 2023 will be 5-7%, according to the calculations of the Ministry of Economic Development – 5.5%.
