A court in the city of Korolev near Moscow arrested a RusNews journalist and the author of the Telegram channel “Chestnoe Korolevskoe!” Roman Ivanov for two months in the case of so-called fakes about the Russian army. This is reported by “Mediazona”.
Two posts in his Telegram channel, as well as one post in the public “Chestnoe Korolevskoe!” in “VKontakte”. They talked about the killing of civilians in Buche, the UN report on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, and the statement by the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, about the lack of missiles. Ivanov himself did not admit his guilt.
Ivanov’s apartment was searched early on Tuesday morning. Law enforcement officers broke down the door to the apartment. The video published by RusNews shows that the door frame is bent, and the wall around the opening is partially destroyed. During the search, as specified by the journalists of the publication, all equipment was seized from Ivanov. His wife added that the police used the equipment to “jam” the communication, because of which she could not call anyone.
- In February, a court in Barnaul sentenced RusNews journalist Maria Ponomarenko to six years in prison. She was found guilty of spreading so-called fakes about the Russian army.
