Russia handed Belarus a complex capable of using nuclear missiles

The Armed Forces of Belarus received from Russia the “Iskander-M” complex, capable of using tactical nuclear munitions. Some of the Belarusian attack aircraft also received the ability to strike with “nuclear weapons.” This was reported by the Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergei Shoigu.

According to him, “from April 3, at one of the Russian test sites, the training of the Belarusian calculations of the order of use” of the supplied weapons “for the defense of the Union state” began.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus at the end of March, justifying this decision with a request from the Belarusian leadership.

At the same time, the acting president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, ordered the military to restore the sites where the nuclear warheads were located and declared his readiness to negotiate with Putin on the introduction of strategic nuclear weapons into Belarus. Lukashenko said that “if the leadership of Russia understands that there will be a collapse of Russia, nuclear weapons will be used.” In this regard, he called the counteroffensive plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “extremely dangerous”.

In response, the authorities of Ukraine needed to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, and the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell statedthat in case of deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus, the European Union will introduce new sanctions against Minsk and Moscow.
