The Cabinet of Ministers of Russia approved a special entry procedure for citizens of Ukraine. This is reported by Kommersant.
From October 16, Ukrainians will be allowed to enter Russia only through the Sheremetyevo airport and the Ludonka checkpoint in the Pskov region. The authorities explained such measures as “ensuring the security of Russians in the current geopolitical conditions.”
Before that, the authorities in Kamchatka retained the citizenship of a local resident who had previously refused Ukrainian citizenship. The court sentenced him to four years of general regime prison in the case of extremist statements on the Internet. According to the FSB, from June 2020 to February 2022, the convicted person called for the “shooting, killing, burning of all Russians and representatives of the authorities” on the VKontakte social network.
From July 1, 2022, the authorities of Ukraine introduced a visa regime for citizens of Russia. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, announcing visas for Russians, noted that the authorities took such a step “as part of countering unprecedented threats to national security.”
In November of the same year, it became known that Ukraine suspended the issuance of residence permits and permanent residence permits to Russians for the period while martial law is in force in the country, and thirty days after its cancellation.
