Russian Su-34 burned down near Chelyabinsk

The main intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine claims that on the night of January 4, a Su-34 tactical bomber burned down near Chelyabinsk at the Shagol military airfield.
In a telegram, GUR publishes a video of a supposedly burning plane and notes that “the causes of the plane’s fire are clarified.”
At the same time, the Ukrainian mass media, with reference to sources in the same GUR, claim that it was a special operation of the Ukrainian military intelligence.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia did not comment on the message. There is no mention of the fire at the military airfield in the Chelyabinsk public records either. However, a number of Russian telegram channels writing about the war, in particular Fighterbomber, which is considered close to the Ministry of Defense, and Gray Zone, which was previously close to PMC “Wagner”, claim that the fire did indeed take place.
At the same time, Fighterbomber writes that the plane was not badly damaged – it is confirmed that the fire started in the air intake of the plane and went out by itself. Gray Zone is not so categorical, but also notes that, judging by the video, the plane is unlikely to have completely burned down. There is no independent data about what happened to the plane yet.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian rear airfields have been repeatedly attacked. As a rule, it was about drone attacks, sabotage is more rare.
