Russian troops are trying to advance along the entire front

Alexander Syrskyi, commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, described the situation on the eastern part of the front as “complicated”. As Syrsky wrote in a telegram, Russian troops “do not stop conducting offensive actions along the entire front.” Syrsky added that he had discussed with the unit commanders measures to ensure sustainable defense and preserve the lives of servicemen.
We are talking about military operations in the Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where in recent weeks – as Ukrainian and Western sources claim, at the cost of heavy losses – Russian troops were able to achieve a number of tactical successes, in particular near Bakhmut, near Avdeevka and in Maryinka.
In the southern, Tavric direction, the number of assaults has recently decreased, and the Russian army uses aviation and artillery to carry out strikes. Alexander Tarnavskyi, the commander of the Ukrainian operational-tactical group of troops “Tavria”, told about this on Sunday.
On Sunday, Russian Telegram channels published a video with a Russian flag allegedly installed in the western district of the city of Marinka in the Donetsk region. In the course of more than one and a half years of intense fighting, the city was almost completely destroyed. In the video, the flag flies over the ruins. Earlier, Russian military bloggers had already published a similar video, claiming that the entire territory of Maryinka was under Russian control. Clarifications were subsequently published that this was not the case. The Ministry of Defense of Russia did not report about the capture of Maryinka, and the Ukrainian military did not report about the withdrawal from there.
It is also reported about the continuation of the demands of the Russian military offensive on Avdeyevka. In the summary of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, it is said that in this direction, the Ukrainian army repelled 39 attacks in the past day.
Both settlements – Maryinka and Avdeevka – are located near the demarcation line as of February 24, 2022. More than a year and a half since the large-scale invasion, Russian troops have not taken them.
