On Monday evening, the Russian army subjected the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region of Ukraine to rocket fire. According to the preliminary data of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, five people died, many were injured.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko, the first rocket damaged residential houses, a hotel and administrative buildings. Then four local residents died. The second blow occurred several tens of minutes later, when rescuers were already working on the scene. As a result, the deputy head of the rescue service of the region died. Thirty-one people were injured, including five rescuers, nineteen policemen and one child.
Rescue work is ongoing at the site, debris is being sorted out.
In addition, the Kupyan district of the Kharkiv region came under fire. The “two strikes” tactic was also used there. An apartment building was destroyed, two people died, one was injured. After the arrival of the rescuers, a second blow followed, wounding two rescuers and a policeman.
