At the end of May, Russians owed banks 225 billion rubles on credit cards, which is 12% of the total amount of funds issued in this way. This is a historical maximum. “Kommersant” writes about this with reference to the credit history bureau “Scoring Bureau”.
Quantitatively, about 6% of credit cards are overdue now – the maximum number since October last year. At the same time, banks continue to issue credit cards at an increasing rate. This year – an average of two million per month, last year – 1.8 million, in 2021 – 1.4 million. The average amount of borrowing is 90 thousand rubles.
“Kommersant” interlocutors assume that cards issued last year instead of cash loans are included in the overdue category. Experts also predict a possible correction of the credit policy of banks.
- After the announcement of mobilization, information began to arrive from different regions that the mobilized were forced to gather themselves for war with Ukraine. In some cases, their relatives took out loans and microloans for this.
