Sandu told about the Russian plan to destabilize Moldova

Russia wants to change power in the Republic of Moldova and bring its supporters to power in Chisinau, – says the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu. At a briefing in Chisinau on Monday, according to the Moldovan service of Radio Liberty, she told the details of the plan to destabilize the situation in the country, which was allegedly developed in Russia. Last week, the Ukrainian special services handed over this plan to their Moldovan colleagues.
According to Sandu, the plan assumed that the supporters of Russia would attack state institutions and take hostages in the guise of protest actions by opposition forces. It is asserted that “military-trained saboteurs dressed in civilian clothes” may be involved in these actions, including from abroad – from Russia, Belarus, Serbia and Montenegro. Sandu also asserted that some forces in Molodove can help Russia achieve its goals, including supporters of opposition politicians and businessmen Ilan Shor and Vlad Plahotniuk, who are abroad.
According to Sandu, Russia’s goals are to stop the European integration of the country and use Moldova in the war against Ukraine. Sandu directly linked the mass protests that took place last fall with Russia’s plans, saying that they “did not achieve their goals due to the operational actions of the security and public order bodies.”
Prime Minister Natalya Gavrylitsa resigned last week. She then noted that the issue of security comes to the fore in the country. Dorin Rechan, a former secretary of the Security Council, has been appointed acting prime minister.
Moscow has not yet commented on Sandu’s latest statements. Relations between Moscow and Chisinau have noticeably worsened over the last hour – including due to the fact that the authorities of Moldova came out in support of Ukraine. Commenting on Kiev’s statement that Russia can use detachments from Chechnya to destabilize the situation in Moldova, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that if necessary, Russia could not only seize Moldova, but also attack the United States.
