Several explosions occurred in Luhansk

On Thursday morning, several explosions occurred in Russian-controlled Luhansk. Both Russian and Ukrainian mass media and Telegram channels publish videos of black columns of smoke over the city.

According to a number of reports, there were three explosions in total. Presumably, it was a missile strike. Luhansk is located far from the front line, but within the reach of, for example, British Storm Shadow missiles deployed in Ukraine. In recent weeks, objects in the city have already been struck.

According to a number of reports, the territory of the diesel locomotive plant, where military equipment is supposedly being repaired, was hit. No casualties have yet been reported. The Ukrainian side did not comment on the possible strike.

Since Thursday morning, Russian Telegram channels have been reporting heavy battles on the front line in the Zaporozhye region. It is confirmed that the Ukrainian army has gone on the offensive with the use of tanks in a number of areas. Officially, neither the Ukrainian side nor the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported this. The Russian military department previously claimed that attacks were repulsed on the second part of the front, in the Donetsk region. At the same time, it was indicated that more than three thousand Ukrainian soldiers were killed and eight Leopard tanks were destroyed. No evidence of this was presented, and on the widely circulated video of the alleged defeat of the “Leopard” under fire, it seems that agricultural machinery came under fire.

The Ukrainian side did not comment on reports about the fighting. The day before, Ukrainian officials stated that the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had not yet begun.

Meanwhile, in the Donetsk region, in the Bakhmut district, according to reports, Ukrainian forces are advancing north of the city in the Berkhovka district and south in the Klescheevka district.

Russian troops occupied Bakhmut after a months-long heavy assault, but the offensive stopped there, and now Ukrainian forces are conducting counterattacks in the vicinity of the city, occupying the dominant heights.
