Mamut Useinov, the finalist of the “Perepoy zvezda” show, was forcibly sent to a military unit after he was detained by riot police during a raid on a mosque in Kotelniki, Moscow region. This was reported by the Astra Telegram channel with reference to the singer’s representatives.

Useinov is in military unit 19612 in Naro-Fominsk. According to the interlocutor of the Telegram channel, the singer’s phone was taken.

Earlier, Useinov reported that after the Friday prayer, he and several other parishioners were taken by riot police and taken to the military enlistment office. There, the detainees were forced to sign a contract with the Russian army. Useinov recorded several videos, in one of which he stated that he refused to sign anything. According to the singer, he and the other refusers were threatened with “communication with the Investigative Committee.”

“In the evening, we were told that we all had to sign a contract for an hour – or prison. On the morning of October 21 at the construction site, I heard that we would all be sent to the SVO,” says Useinov.

Useinov received a Russian passport in 2014 in the annexed Crimea. According to the singer, he did not serve due to his health. He is 26 years old, that is, by age he falls under the draft.

Now in Russia there is an autumn draft for military service. The authorities claim that conscripts will not be sent to the so-called “SVO” zone, that is, to the war in Ukraine. At the same time, the authorities are actively recruiting contract servicemen.

  • Recently, there have been several reports of attempts by the authorities to attract migrants who have received Russian citizenship to participate in the war. “Roundups” on them were reported in different regions of Russia, including St. Petersburg. They are detained, taken to the military enlistment office and placed on the military register, while offering to conclude contracts for army service and threatening punishment in case of refusal. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, recently suggested that migrants who have received Russian passports should lose their citizenship if they do not want to take part in the war against Ukraine.
