Sweden closed the case on the undermining of the “Nordic Streams” due to lack of jurisdiction

The Swedish prosecutor’s office closed the investigation into the Nord Stream bombing case in September 2022 due to the lack of jurisdiction of the Swedish court in the case.
About this informs press service of the Swedish Prosecutor’s Office.
As noted, Sweden has been investigating the Nord Stream sabotage since September 26, 2022. The main purpose of the preliminary investigation was to find out whether Swedish citizens were involved in this crime and whether Swedish territory was used to commit it.
The preliminary investigation has now reached such a stage that the authorities have a complete picture of the event and no signs of involvement of Sweden or Swedish nationals in the attack, which took place in international waters.
The further investigation was stopped, because the prosecutor’s office believes that Sweden has no jurisdiction over the further investigation of the case.
“In summary, the Swedish preliminary investigation was able to reject and confirm the circumstances, which collectively lead to the conclusion that there are no longer grounds for continuing the Swedish preliminary investigation, as it can be assumed that the Swedish court has no jurisdiction,” the Swedish prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The investigation continues in Germany.
We will remind:
In September 2023, investigators hoped complete Sweden’s investigation into the Nord Stream explosions by the end of 2023.
The explosions on the routes of the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines occurred on September 26, 2022 in the economic zones of Sweden and Denmark. All involved in the country’s investigation believe the bombings were deliberate and are investigating to identify those responsible.
In March 2023, President Zelenskyi denied Ukraine’s alleged involvement in Nord Stream sabotage. At the beginning of June, he once again stated that Kyiv was not involved in these explosions.
The US National Security Council also did not confirm the “pro-Ukrainian trail”.
And at the end of April, the Danish armed forces announced the presence of evidence that a Russian military special vessel was near the Nord Stream gas pipeline four days before the explosion.
