TASS claims that Trepova is “cooperating with the investigation”

On Saturday evening, the Russian state news agency TASS published a message that Daria Trepova, accused of committing an explosion in a cafe in St. Petersburg, which resulted in the death of blogger Maksym Fomin, known under the pseudonym Vladlen Tatarsky, is “cooperating with the investigation.”

TASS refers to a source in law enforcement agencies. According to him, all of Trepovy’s statements are “thoroughly verified”, and as a result, “the entire circle of alleged accomplices of the accused is established” and “various versions and motives of the terrorist attack are being worked out.” The message also contains a stipulation that the details of the investigative team’s work are not specified in the interests of the investigation.

At the same time, earlier representatives of the Russian authorities claimed that the explosion was organized from the territory of Ukraine, and Trepova was carrying out the task of some persons from Kyiv. In the latest message of TASS, there is no such confirmation.

Trepovoy’s lawyers have not yet commented on the agency’s message.

Earlier it became known that Darya Trepovoy’s defense did not appeal against the court’s decision to arrest her. The case file states that the arrest warrant entered into force on April 8. Trepova’s defense either did not appeal the arrest or did not have time to do so within a three-day period. At the very meeting to select a measure of restraint for Trepova, the defense demanded that a measure not associated with deprivation of liberty be appointed.

On April 4, Daria Trepova was arrested for two months by the Basmanny Court of Moscow, where she was transferred from St. Petersburg after her detention. Charges have been brought under the articles of committing a terrorist attack by an organized group and illegal carrying of explosive devices. The meeting was held in closed session. Trepova was sent to the “Lefortovo” pre-trial detention center, where defendants are held in cases investigated by the FSB.

Law enforcement authorities detained a 26-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, Daria Trepova. She is accused of bringing a statuette with an explosive device to the meeting with Tatarsky. According to media sources, Trepova could not have guessed that the statuette, which she handed over to Tatarsky, contained an explosive substance.
• Russian investigative bodies claimed possible involvement in the murder of Vladlen of Tatarsky Ukrainy, as well as the Anti-Corruption Fund, founded by Alexei Navalny. Both the Ukrainian authorities and supporters of the opposition deny involvement in the attack. The National Republican Army claimed responsibility for the explosion. The existence of such an organization, allegedly waging an armed struggle against the Russian authorities, was previously reported by Ilya Ponomarev, a politician living in Kyiv, and a number of Telegram channels. However, there is no evidence that the “army” was in any way involved in the explosion.
• Vladlen Tatarsky’s funeral was held in Moscow on Saturday at Troekurovsky cemetery. Hundreds of people came to say goodbye. The funeral was held with military honors – the blogger was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. The head of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin and the leader of the LDPR deputy Leonid Slutsky came to the funeral. A sledgehammer was brought to the grave – a symbol of PMC “Wagner”, in the ranks of which Tatarsky was posthumously recorded. The song “They’re gone” was also performed – a remake of a composition by the Chechen bard Timur Mutsuraev, originally dedicated to the Chechen fighters who died in the war with Russia.
