The authorities of St. Petersburg did not find a violation in the PNI, where seven wards died

The Committee on Social Policy of St. Petersburg did not find any violations in the work of the psychoneurological boarding school No. 10, where seven residents died recently. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Social Policy Committee, Alexander Lyubimov, at the TASS press conference.

According to Lyubimov, after the death of the boarding school students, the department conducted “more than 16 checks”, which showed that “what happened does not coincide with the activities of the institution”.

“There is only a criminal case left, which is being investigated by the Investigative Committee,” Lyubimov said.

Nyuta Federmesser, a member of the board of trustees of the “Perspective” charity organization, told about the death of seven children in a boarding school in April. She argued that the true cause of their death was exhaustion. This information was partially confirmed by the publication 78.ru and the Telegram channel “Mash na Moike”. The Investigative Committee confirmed the death of only six residents. According to the investigation, improper care led to the death of the pupils.

Inspections of the institution were carried out by the St. Petersburg Prosecutor’s Office and the city’s social policy committee. According to the results of the investigation, the prosecutor’s office stated that the management of the PNI “properly and in a timely manner” financed and organized the provision of food to the deceased guests.

At the same time, the department noted that violations of technical regulations on fire safety requirements and food safety were detected in the boarding school. It was also stated that the management of the boarding school did not do proper work on staffing.

Now the issue of initiating administrative cases is being resolved. The prosecutor’s office presented Ivan Verevkin, the director of PNI No. 10, with a representation that is under consideration.

• At the beginning of July, the authorities of St. Petersburg announced plans to reform the system of psychoneurological boarding schools. The transformation will affect five orphanages and eight boarding schools, including boarding school No. 10. The reform plan has not yet been approved. The terms of ego realization are not mentioned.
