The Belgorod governor reported the shelling of the village of Rzhevka

The Governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported on Thursday that five people were injured in shelling from the Ukrainian side of the territory of the Shebekinsky district.

Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel that the village of Rzhevka came under fire. One of the wounded is in serious condition – he has a traumatic amputation of the upper and lower limbs. Four more victims had shrapnel injuries to their lower limbs. All of them are hospitalized.

Gladkov also wrote that two private households and one car were damaged by shrapnel. Earlier, the governor reported one casualty in the attack on the APU of the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka.

The mayor of Belgorod, Valentin Demidov, wrote in the Telegram channel about the damage to residential buildings received during the Ukrainian shelling the night before. According to him, there is information about damage in more than 50 apartments and nine private houses.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced on the afternoon of February 8 that a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down over the Belgorod region by the on-duty means of the PVL.

The authorities of the Belgorod region regularly announce shelling of regions bordering Ukraine after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Due to this, a “yellow” (high) level of terrorist danger has been established in the region. A state of emergency has been introduced in 15 border settlements.

As a rule, Kyiv does not comment on information about shelling.
