The investigative committee will close the criminal case against two children who were extinguished at the end of November Eternal fire in Norilsk. This was announced by the head of the regional SC, “Prospekt Myra” reports. The children have not reached the age of criminal responsibility, said the representative of the department.
“These guys, as far as I know, laid flowers with their class. They gave tribute and honor to the memory that is enshrined in the Eternal Fire. This is the Eternal Fire, and they start there – thank God, even if they don’t do something – throw snowflakes . […] Thank God that they have not reached the age – they can still be brought up without being brought to criminal responsibility,” added Roman Tyutyunyk, the prosecutor of the Krasnoyarsk region.
On November 19, 10- and 11-year-old schoolchildren extinguished the Eternal Fire flame at the Victory Memorial with snow and their feet and ran away. Their actions were recorded by a street video camera. The director of the municipal institution contacted the police.
On November 24, the schoolboys were found. Then the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that they held a preventive conversation with the children and their parents. But after that, at the request of the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, a criminal case was initiated under the article on the destruction or damage of memorial structures, as well as objects that perpetuate the memory of those who died in defense of the Fatherland.
- Due to Alexander Bastrykin’s intervention, criminal cases are regularly initiated. Thus, in July 2022, an independent deputy of the city council of Novosibirsk, Helga Pyrogova, drew up a protocol on the “discrediting” of the Russian army for a deleted comment on the text of “Mediazone” about Russians who concluded a short-term contract with the Ministry of Defense and died in Ukraine. Then Bastrykin instructed to check this tweet, and 40 minutes later the Novosibirsk office of the SC reported that a criminal case had been initiated under the article on military “fakes”. Pirogov had to leave Russia.
