The court did not allow Kobolev’s bail to be changed to a personal bond

The investigative judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court left unchanged the preventive measure against Andrii Kobolev, the former head of Naftogaz.

The court left without consideration the request of the defense party to change his preventive measure to a personal commitment. Earlier, the court chose Kobolev as a preventive measure in the form of UAH 230 million bail.
He is also charged with procedural duties, including: not to leave Kyiv and the region without the permission of the detective, prosecutor or court, to refrain from communicating with witnesses in the case, to deposit a passport for traveling abroad and to wear an electronic means of control.
Previously, the investigative judge of the VAKS on April 17 continued for 2 months, the validity period of the procedural duties assigned to the ex-head of “Naftogaz” Andrii Kobolev.
As noted in the legal company “Miller”, which represents the interests of Kobolev in this court process, at the meeting of the VAKS allowed him to return the passport of a citizen of Ukraine and to move around the Kyiv region.

On January 18, NABU and SAP informed Kobolev of suspicion of embezzlement of over UAH 229 million in 2018.
According to NABU, Kobolev illegally accrued UAH 261 million based on the Supervisory Board’s decision to pay him a bonus for extraordinary achievements. This payment was part of bonuses awarded to the company’s management in May 2018 for Naftogaz’s historic victory over Russia’s Gazprom at the Stockholm Arbitration Court.
