A criminal case of treason has been initiated against the former kickboxing coach of the Dagestan national team, Akhmad Akhmedov, for his participation in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Akhmedov was declared wanted – the corresponding card appeared on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The Moscow Times publication notes that the accused moved to Ukraine in 2017, before that he was the director of a children’s and youth sports school in the Kizlyar district of Dagestan, trained 16 world and European kickboxing champions and received the title of Honored Coach of Russia.

After the move, Akhmedov began training the Ukrainian national kickboxing team and headed the national federation of this sport. With the beginning of the full-scale war, the coach enlisted in the Ukrainian volunteer battalion “Hort”.

  • A number of Ukrainian mass media claim that hundreds of Russian citizens are already fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces – both volunteers and regular Russian servicemen who have defected to Ukraine. It is impossible to check the veracity of this information in the conditions of intensive combat operations.
