The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported the liberation of the village of Rivnopol in the west of the Donetsk region by Ukrainian troops. “Let’s move forward,” Anna Malyar wrote in a telegram.
This is a small settlement with a pre-war population of about 100 people. He was located in the north of the so-called Vremyevskogo salient, and after the start of the Ukrainian offensive in the first days of June, he was actually semi-encircled. If the report is confirmed, it will mean that Ukrainian forces actually “cut” the ridge on the border of Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions.
Russian sources have not yet confirmed or denied the loss of Rivnopol.
Earlier, in this area, the Ukrainian military occupied several more settlements controlled by Russia since last spring. However, there was no deep defense breakthrough.
There are also reports of fighting in the Kherson region on the left bank of the Dnieper. Both Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels report that the Ukrainian military managed to cross the Dnieper in the area of the destroyed Antonovsky bridge and gain a foothold on the Russian-controlled left bank.
Vladimir Saldo, the head of the Kherson regional administration appointed by Russia, denies this, but Russian pro-war bloggers directly write about it. The Ukrainian General Staff and the Ministry of Defense do not officially announce the battles there, Ukrainian social media users hint that they are going, but it is necessary to observe informational silence.
