The court in Moscow sentenced the director of the Institute of Public Service and Management and the dean of the Faculty of State Administration of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences to conditional terms. They wrote out allowances and bonuses to teachers, receiving them back in cash, TASS reports.
RANChyGS is one of the leading Russian universities, where high-ranking officials, including governors and employees of the Presidential Administration, undergo advanced training. The director of the civil service institute, Igor Bartsits, and the dean, Svetlana Laryna, were detained by the FSB in 2020. As “Kommersant” wrote, only several million rubles could be stolen. Bartsits defense said that he compensated the damage.
Initially, the case was initiated for large-scale personal fraud. According to it, teachers were threatened with up to 10 years in prison. Another suspect, the son of Yazbey Feyzba Aslan, the first dean of the Faculty of Economics of the Abkhaz University, was declared an international wanted person in the case. He worked as a department head of the Institute of Civil Service and Administration.
