The seventh package proves the EU’s general military aid to Ukraine at the expense of the European Peace Fund up to 3.6 billion euros.
“Today’s events send a clear signal at a critical moment: we will continue to support Ukraine as long as it is needed,” said the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell.
On Thursday, the European Parliament at a plenary session in Brussels adopted a resolution calling on EU member states to “increase and speed up military assistance to Kyiv, including the provision of weapons.”

The European Peace Fund was created in March 2021 to finance all actions of the common foreign and security policy related to military and defense issues, with the aim of preventing conflicts, preserving peace and strengthening international security and stability.
In particular, thanks to the European Peace Fund, the EU can finance actions aimed at strengthening the potential of non-EU countries, as well as regional and international organizations on military and defense issues.
Thanks to the fund, the EU supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine through six consecutive support packages, as well as many other countries.
