According to the proposal of the EU, Ukraine will start receiving funds from the profits of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. It will start from July this year, Vechernye Vesty reports with a link to Bloomberg.

Proposals that have been put forward in the European Union provide for the introduction of a tax on profits that are obtained from immobilized reserves. This innovation is designed to use 3 billion euros annually for the benefit of the Ukrainian state.

Approximately 260 billion euros of assets of the Russian Federation of the Central Bank of Russia, mainly in the form of securities, as well as cash, were frozen by the G7 countries, the European Union and Australia. At the same time, more than two thirds of them are blocked on the territory of the European Union.

The financing of the Ukrainian state is now especially urgent. There is an acute shortage of artillery ammunition in the Ukrainian army. Approximately 60 billion US dollars are currently blocked in Congress, which necessitates the use of frozen assets.

Earlier, the EU froze the assets of the Russian Central Bank worth more than 200 billion euros.
