The exclamation “It’s all for show!” was removed from the video with Putin in Mariupol.

On the website of the Kremlin, a re-edited video of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to occupied Mariupol was published. A fragment with a woman’s cry “It’s all untrue! It’s all for show!” was cut from the video. Telegram channel “We can explain” drew attention to this.

The shout was heard when Putin was talking at the entrance with local residents. In addition to the scream, the man’s words were removed from the new video, that he is also 70 years old (like Putin), but he “was left with nothing.” The original version of the recording was preserved by mass media.

Also, the original audio track remained on the Kremlin website: the fragment removed from the video begins at 22:26.

In the Mariupol chat rooms, they wrote that Putin visited the only developed city microdistrict “Nevsky”, notes “We can explain”.

The press service of the Kremlin claims that Putin arrived in Mariupol by helicopter. This is his first trip to the Ukrainian territories occupied in 2022. Putin was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin. The press secretary of the president Dmitry Peskov stated that the trip was not prepared in advance.

• The Russian army occupied Mariupol in May 2022 after bloody battles and a long blockade. The city was almost completely destroyed by artillery fire. According to the UN, up to 90% of high-rise residential buildings and about 60% of private houses were destroyed or damaged.
