The Bryansk Regional Court changed the measure of restraint from detention to prohibition of certain actions for Dmitry Afanaskin – the father of the schoolgirl who staged a shooting at the school. This was reported by TASS from the courtroom.

On December 7, Afanaskina’s 14-year-old daughter brought a pump-action shotgun to class, which she fired several times before killing herself. As a result, five people were injured, one schoolgirl died.

Dmytro Afanaskin was detained and charged with negligent storage of weapons, as well as with causing suicide. The investigation assumes that the father used physical and psychological violence on Alina and her twin sister.

Afanaskin pleaded guilty to negligent storage of weapons, but categorically denied the charges of driving his daughter to suicide.

On December 10, the court sent Afanaskin to a pre-trial detention center for two months. The court’s decision was challenged in the regional court by both the defense and the prosecutor’s office.

The court also arrested school security guard Halyna Chertkova and director of Excalibur Agency Sergey Poddubny until February 6. His company provided security for the educational institution. Larisa Katolikova, director of administrative and economic work at the gymnasium, was accused of negligence that led to the death of people due to carelessness, and was sent under house arrest.
