On Monday, the first thread of the main water pipeline was launched on the “Ingulets – Kryazheve” section, which began to be built on the third day of the terrorist attack at the Kakhovskaya HPP – it will provide water to a quarter of the population of Kryvyi Rih.

Construction of the water line began on the third day after the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovskaya HPP. In general, the link “Ingulets – Kryazheve” consists of four threads. The launch of the remaining three should take place in early autumn.
In general, the main water pipeline project consists of three sections with a total length of almost 150 km. Ahead – the launch of two more sections “Manganets – Nikopol – Pokrov” (length 40.9 km) and “Zaporizhia – Tomakivka – Manganets” (76.7 km).
In order to start the first link, water from the Ingulets River is supplied by the pumping station to the underground pipeline. Then, the water enters the South Reservoir through an open channel and is supplied to the residents of Kryvyi Rih. This process will take up to 10 days.
It is noted that for the sake of transparency of construction, consulting engineers and independent technical supervision are involved in each section. Work on the construction of the water supply continues continuously and around the clock. The implementation of the project is carried out by the State Reconstruction Agency with the assistance of local and regional authorities.
The Ministry of Reconstruction reminds that due to the Russian terrorist attack at the Kakhovskaya HPP, about a million Ukrainians are experiencing water supply interruptions. In some settlements, water is delivered by tankers, and people buy drinking water in bottles.
Subsequently, with the support of USAID, a comprehensive technical audit of the project documentation for the construction of all three sections of main water mains will be conducted.
