The FSB of Russia reported the detention of members of a certain “neo-Nazi group” in Moscow and the Ryazan region on suspicion of preparing an attempt on the editor-in-chief of the pro-Kremlin TV channel RT Margarita Simonyan and journalist Ksenia Sobchak. This is reported by Russian news agencies.

The special service claims that the detention operation was carried out on Friday, July 14. According to TASS, this is the “Paragraph 88” group. Its participants allegedly “conducted reconnaissance” near the places of work and residence of Simonyan and Sobchak on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine. For each murder, the Ukrainian side promised to pay one and a half million rubles, the FSB claims.

During the searches, according to the information of the special service, operatives found a Kalashnikov assault rifle, 90 cartridges for it, handcuffs, means of communication and “computers with information confirming their criminal intentions.”

The FSB does not say how many people have been detained. According to TASS, the investigation demands their arrest.

The RT channel publishes a video of the interrogation of one of the suspects, allegedly 18-year-old Mikhail Balashov. He reports that he created a “neo-Nazi group” and involved underage friends in it. Then, according to Balashov, representatives of the Ukrainian special services contacted them and offered to kill Simonyan and Sobchak.

In the photo, which is also published by RT, you can see, among other things, weapons, knuckle dusters, the book “My Struggle” by Adolf Hitler, a flag with the image of George the Victorious and the numbers “14” and “88” written on it.

Margarita Simonyan wrote in a telegram that the detainees were following her and knew her full address. “Give them to my father for re-education. He will make real men out of them,” Simonyan wrote in response to the RIA Novosti report that the court is choosing a measure of restraint for the detainees.

Ksenia Sobchak did not comment on the FSB message, but her project “Caution, news” writes that today the detainees are being arrested by the Basmanny court. “At the moment, they are accused of hooliganism. A total of six people were brought to court, including 18-year-old Mikhail Balashov, a video of his “confessions” has already been distributed by RT,” the post says (spelling preserved – note by RS ).

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the message of the Russian special service.
