The Cabinet of Ministers approved and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the draft law on restarting the work of the Bureau of Economic Security.

“We approve and submit to the Verkhovna Rada the draft law on restarting the work of the Bureau of Economic Security,” Shmyhal said.
As the Prime Minister noted, the government proposes that only the National Security Agency and NABU can raise the issue of conducting audits of the financial and economic activities of businesses, regardless of their form of ownership.
In addition, the National Police and SBU should be excluded from the list of state financial control bodies. A new procedure for electing the director of BEB with the involvement of international partners is also proposed.
The Prime Minister added that the relevant changes are aimed at strengthening the rule of law and improving the investment climate in Ukraine.

Before reportedthat the Ministry of Justice and lawyers of the President’s Office are currently working on the draft law on the creation of a single body responsible for economic crimes, it will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration in the coming days.
