The heads of foreign affairs of EU countries agreed on sanctions due to the death of Navalny

The foreign ministers of the European Union agreed to impose sanctions against people and organizations responsible for the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was reported by the head of the EU foreign policy department, Josep Borrell.
About 30 individuals and legal entities will fall under the restrictions – who exactly will be included in the sanctions list has not yet been revealed.
In February, Great Britain imposed sanctions on the leadership of IK-3 “Polar Wolf”, in which opposition politician Alexei Navalny died. Great Britain became the first country to impose sanctions in response to Navalny’s death.
- Russian authorities announced Navalny’s death on February 16. According to FSIN, the oppositionist, who was serving his sentence in the “Polar Wolf” special regime colony, died the day after the walk.
