“The helicopter must be taken away” – “Schemy” published the second part of Boguslaev’s conversations

“Schem” journalists have published previously unknown recordings of the telephone conversations of Motor Sichi’s president at the time, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, which confirm that during the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, he blocked the transfer of the Mi-2 helicopter to Ukrainian intelligence officers.

Source: “Schemes” program (Radio Liberty)

Details: It is reported that the journalists received the recordings from law enforcement sources and verified them with the help of an independent American expert.

The talks took place in April 2022, when representatives of the Main Directorate of Intelligence approached the “Motor Sich” enterprise with the intention of seizing the Mi-2 helicopter in the interests of the defense of Ukraine.

In particular, part of the conversations take place on April 21, 2022, and during them Boguslaev gives instructions to disassemble the helicopter into spare parts and hide the documents necessary for its operation.

Journalists cite a number of quotes by Boguslaev, which confirm his criminal intentions not to hand over the helicopter to the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

“You disrupt the RDC (digital engine regulator – ed.) on this helicopter. Disrupt the RDC there so that they don’t take off – and that’s it.”

“Shovels are hard to hide, but remove the aggregates, hide everything, damn it.”

“Behave tough, nothing, there, don’t bow, don’t ask them to know b*l… And the helicopter must be taken away.”

It is noted that among Boguslaev’s interlocutors that day were the director of marketing and trade of “Motor Sichi” Pavlo Kasai, the head of a separate division of the enterprise Ihor Kostiuk and the designer Roman Myronenko, the head of the aviation company “AgroaviaDnipro”, on the territory of which the helicopter was located, Oleksandr Ponikarevich and an employee of the service Oleksandr Kornienko company.

Boguslaev also tried to block the transfer of the Mi-2, involving in it the People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Gennady Kasai, who is a native of “Motor Sichi” and the brother of Pavel Kasai, the director of marketing and trade of the enterprise.

It is reported that Natalia Ulyanenko, who previously worked for Motor Sichi and, judging by the conversations, had an influence on decision-making in favor of Boguslaev in various government offices, including at the level of the General Staff, also helped in this.

Despite Boguslaev’s attempt to block the process, the intelligence officers still managed to seize the Mi-2 for the needs of the army.

“Schemes” also cite documents that indicate that Boguslaev tried to sell a number of helicopters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at least one of which was “risky for life” to fly.

On March 28, Boguslaev was informed of a new suspicion under the article “obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

People’s deputy Kasai said in a conversation with “Schemy” that he would provide a video commentary, but he did not contact journalists anymore. Ulyanenko stated that she does not remember her involvement or influence on the helicopter transfer process and noted that she still works at Motor Sichi as an adviser to the new manager.

Prehistory:

  • On October 22, 2022, the UP learned that the SBU detained the honorary president of the Motor Sich company, ex-Nardeput Vyacheslav Boguslaev.
  • On October 23, 2022, the Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the detention of the president of JSC “Motor Sich” and the head of the Department of Foreign Economic Activities of this company: they were charged with collaboration and aiding and abetting the aggressor state.
  • According to the investigation, these officials acted in collusion with representatives of the Russian corporation Rostec, which is one of the main producers of weapons for the Russian armed forces, close to the Kremlin. Criminals have established transnational channels for the illegal supply of wholesale batches of Ukrainian aircraft engines to the aggressor country.
  • In April, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi introduced sanctions against the ex-president of Motor Sichi Vyacheslav Boguslaev and the Russians.
