The International Monetary Fund is studying the amendment adopted by the parliament, which returns payments of 30,000 hryvnias to the military by limiting payments in state bodies and state-owned enterprises.
The head of the fund’s mission in Ukraine, Gavin Gray, reported this in a comment “Interfax-Ukraine“.
“We are aware of the amendment adopted by the parliament on April 10 regarding the legal basis for applying measures related to martial law, and we are in the process of assessing its impact,” he said.
In addition, Gray noted that it is still too early to comment on Ukraine’s fulfillment of a number of commitments and quantitative criteria within the framework of the EFF extended funding program at the end of March, as the program was approved a little more than a week ago.
On Monday, the Verkhovna Rada voted in general, for the draft law with an amendment returning the payment of 30,000 hryvnias to Ukrainian military personnel who are outside the places of hostilities, as well as civil protection service and the police.
The first deputy of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, reported that the administration returns the allowance by saving on reduced salaries for civil servants and management of state-owned enterprises up to 10 minimum salaries, or 67 thousand UAH.
According to Zheleznyak, in order to return payments of 30,000 UAH to the military, an additional 152.4 billion UAH is needed, while the savings from salary restrictions of officials will save up to 3 billion UAH.
On Tuesday, People’s Deputy from “Holos” Volodymyr Tsabal registered in the Council a resolution on the cancellation of the decision to return additional payments to military personnel outside the limits of hostilities. As Zheleznyak noted, until this resolution is considered in the parliament, the speaker does not have the right to sign the law.
