The independent publication “Astra” resumed work after a week of suspension. Its creator Anastasia Chumakova reported this.

“Astra” suspended its work on April 1. Then Chumakova said that the publication received a large tax collection, which the editorial office could not cover. After the announcement of the suspension, two people expressed their desire to cover the tax, Chumakova reported. She noted that “this issue has not yet been resolved, but it will probably be resolved in the coming days.” Chumakova also said that she would look for new ways of financing Astra.
“Astra” appeared after the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine in 2022. Among other things, “Astra” found more than a dozen basements in the occupied Ukrainian territories, in which the Russian command imprisons soldiers for refusing to go to the front.
