The investigation named the detained media manager as the administrator of a Telegram channel with 550,000 subscribers

Media manager Alexander Husov was detained in Moscow in connection with an extortion case. The investigation asked to arrest him for two months at the Tversky Court in Moscow, reports TASS. It was stated at the court that Husov is the creator of the anonymous telegram channel of the Cheka-OGPU with 550 thousand subscribers.

Husov, whom the mass media previously called the owner of the online newspaper Novy Vek, is accused of extortion on a large scale. It is not officially reported what exactly he is suspected of. According to the article, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

Since the summer, at least 13 editorial staff of anonymous Telegram channels who wrote about politics have been arrested in Russia. In most cases, the charges were related to demands for extortion from top managers of the Rostec state corporation. The edition “Project” wrote that it could be a redistribution of the market of anonymous channels.

During the trial of Gusov, a message about his detention appeared in the Cheka-OGPU. In the publication, the arrest was linked to the head of Rostec, the KGB colleague of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sergei Chemezov. The channel did not comment on its possible relationship with the media manager.

According to his words, he was considered the creator of the Cheka-OGPU. The journalist reported that a criminal case has been opened for extortion against one of the richest Russians, Alisher Usmanov, and one of the richest Kazakhs, Kenes Rakyshev.
