The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has announced a wanted list for the former coordinator of the Pskov branch of the “Voice” movement, Vladimir Zhilinsky. Earlier, a criminal case was initiated against him under the article on violation of the duties of so-called foreign agents. The “Mediazon” edition drew attention to the wanted card.

The website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not indicate under which article people are wanted. It is not known exactly why the case against Zhylinskyi was initiated. The reason could be several fines under a similar administrative article.

Zhilinsky left Russia in 2021, after the Ministry of Justice of the country included him in the list of so-called foreign agents.

According to Mediazona’s calculations, 93 more people from the list of agents are threatened with criminal prosecution due to the possibility of initiating a criminal case after several fines.

International and Russian human rights organizations have repeatedly criticized the Russian legislation on agents, noting that the list can be expanded almost arbitrarily, and its participants are affected by their civil rights.
