The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has declared the creator of the cartoon series “Masyan” Oleh Kuvaev wanted. The multiplier is being sought under the article of the Criminal Code, but it is not known what exactly. Kuvaev has been living in Israel since 2006.

On Friday last week, the Ministry of Justice of Russia recognized the creator of “Masyana” as a so-called foreign agent. On the department’s website, it is indicated that the multiplier opposed a special military operation – that’s how the Russian authorities call Russia’s war against Ukraine.

In October, it became known that a criminal case was initiated against Kuvaev under the article on public appeals to activities directed against the security of the state. The details of the case were not reported, but information appeared on Telegram channels that the reason for the case was the 169th episode of “Masyana”, in which the main character invites Russian soldiers to surrender.

After Russia’s attack on Ukraine, Kuvaev released several anti-war series “Masyan”. In March 2022, Roskomnadzor blocked the website with Kuvaev’s film due to “discrediting the armed forces” of Russia.

In addition, the creator of the animated series Mr. Freeman Pavel Muntyan. In October, a criminal case was opened against him under the article about the so-called fakes about the Russian army. According to the telegram channel “Baza”, the reason was the post of the multiplier in the telegram mentioning the involvement of the Russian military in the killing of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.

The other day, a court in Moscow fined Muntyan under an administrative article on discrediting the army. It is not known what caused the protocol to be drawn up.

In April, the Ministry of Justice recognized Muntyan as a foreign agent. Muntyan has been living in Cyprus for the past few years.
