The Ministry of Statistics proposed to withdraw the earnings of musicians and writers announced by foreign agencies

The Russian Ministry of Digital Development proposed to take the money earned from musicians and writers who were declared to be foreign agents and fined under the administrative article on fakes about the Russian army. This was stated by the head of the department Maksut Shadaev on Saturday, his words are quoted by “Interfax”.

Author’s fees to such people are suggested to be frozen in special bank accounts. Russian advertisers are prohibited from placing advertisements with such authors. The minister did not name the conditions for possible unfreezing of special accounts.

The system of special accounts has been used since May last year by order of President Vladimir Putin to freeze the money of rights holders from so-called unfriendly countries. By them, Moscow recognizes all the states that joined the sanctions against Russia.

Accounts are opened in rubles, and money can be withdrawn from them only with the permission of the government commission for control over the implementation of foreign investments.
