The Ministry of Trade of Kazakhstan refuted reports about the ban on the export of a number of goods to the Russian Federation

The Ministry of Trade of Kazakhstan stated that the information about the ban on the export of 106 types of dual-use goods to Russia does not correspond to reality. Earlier, Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebaev announced the ban.

The department’s statement says that the regulation of trade relations between Kazakhstan and Russia “takes place in full accordance with the provisions of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.”

“Prohibitions on the export of any goods to Russia due to anti-Russian sanctions were not established. At the same time, we note that the trade in so-called dual-use goods, which are subject to export control, is carried out in accordance with the international obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In accordance with the legislation of the Republic “Kazakhstan, in relation to such goods, it is necessary to obtain an appropriate license for export, import and transit,” the message states.

On October 19, Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebaev said that Kazakhstan had banned the sale of 106 types of dual-use goods to Russia. “We export all goods, except those related to the war – restrictions are imposed on them. These are 106 items – we have completely banned their export,” said Torebaev.
