The National Bank imposed a fine of 102,000 hryvnias on FC “Ye Groshi Kom” due to violations of the legislation on the ethical behavior of collectors.

The regulator in the actions of FC “Ye Groshi Kom” discovered the fact of violation of the legislation regarding how collection companies should interact with consumers during the collection of overdue debts.

Namely, the company violated the requirements of the “collector” law regarding ethical behavior, so a fine of UAH 102,000 was applied to it. The NBU made such a decision on May 1.

In 2021, Law No. 1349-IX, which strengthens the protection of debtors against blackmail by debt collection companies, came into effect in Ukraine.

Yes, creditors must inform consumers in the event of the involvement of a collection company or the assignment of the claim to a new creditor. The NBU also conducts register collection companies, but public access to it is closed during martial law.

In total, there are about 200 debt collection companies in Ukraine that are engaged in collecting overdue debts of their clients.
