The Southern District Military Court sentenced Igor Paskar, a resident of the Volgograd Region, to eight and a half years in prison, who threw a bottle of incendiary mixture into the FSB building in Krasnodar. He was found guilty of committing a terrorist attack and vandalism motivated by political hatred. This is reported by “Solidarity Zone”.

Previously, the prosecutor requested such a term for the defendant. Paskar will spend the first three years in prison, and the remaining term in a high-security colony.

The reason for the criminal case was the symbolic arson of the FSB building in Krasnodar. On June 14, 2022, Paskar threw a Molotov cocktail at the door of the central entrance to the FSB building in Krasnodar. As a result, the foot mat caught fire. Ego was extinguished by the employees themselves. After that, he painted the Ukrainian flag on his cheek, after a few minutes he was detained by the police. Paskar called his action anti-war.

At the court session, which sent him to the pre-trial detention center, Paskar told how he was asked after the detention: “They put a grenade or a dummy grenade in his hands and said that they would pull out the check; They put a barrel to his head and threatened to shoot him.” Before that, according to him, in the FSB building, they put a bag on his head, threw him on the floor and beat him with his feet, and also asked him to give the names of the “Ukrainian curators”. To avoid further torture, he invented a character named Alexander Wolf.

Paskar called his action anti-war. “I am not a terrorist warrior to hide. I wanted to express my opinion, it was a cry. I am a simple person, a simple worker, just like someone who lives in Ukraine, in the SVO zone. I sacrificed myself to the regime, but I’m not a terrorist,” he explained his concession in a conversation with “Mediazona”.

In August, it became known that a criminal case of vandalism was opened against Paskar for setting fire to a banner with the letter Z and with the inscription “We do not abandon our own” in Krasnodar.

  • After the start of the war against Ukraine in February of last year, attacks on administrative buildings and acts of sabotage have increased sharply in Russia. Attempts were made to set fire to several dozen military enlistment centers and other state institutions.
  • The symbol Z is considered an unofficial symbol of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. Damage to Z is punishable by a fine. For example, fines were already issued for throwing paint at Z and spitting at Z.
