This is stated in articles EP.
As the head of the NBU, Andriy Pishnyi, said, active work on preparation for the IMF mission, which preceded the staff-level agreement on this program, began after the return of the managing director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, from Ukraine.
At that time, the head of the foundation was impressed not only by the destruction, but also by the ability of Ukrainians to adapt and maintain the operation of critical and financial infrastructure in extremely difficult conditions. According to Pyshnyi, Georgieva was very impressed by how clean and tidy Kiev was during the war.
“The philosophy of broken windows probably worked here: she did not see them. And this is a very important moment, because it speaks of the stability and capacity of Ukraine at the mental level, not only at the level of the reports that we prepare,” the head of the NBU emphasizes.
