The authorities of Primorye are introducing a state of emergency on a regional scale to eliminate the consequences of typhoon “Khanun”, according to the Telegram channel of the head of the region Oleg Kozhemyako.

According to him, the state of emergency “will allow to increase measures to support the population affected by the flood”, since the municipal authorities are unable to cope with the liquidation of the consequences. Earlier, the authorities of Ussuriysk, which suffered the most from the typhoon and flooding, promised the victims 150 thousand rubles in compensation. Residents of the city noted that they will not be able to restore the lost property for such money.

The head of the region, Oleg Kozhemyako, ordered to pay 10 thousand rubles to the victims so that “people can purchase essential items.” A video appeared on social networks in which the head of Ussuriysk, Yevgeny Korzh, allegedly says that the federal authorities “shit on us and you.”

Earlier, a resident of Ussuriysk complained to Governor Oleg Kozhemiako that the citizens had to collect money for food and equipment for rescuers. The head of the region promised to sort things out.

The authorities of Mykhailo district in Primorsky Krai, through which the typhoon passed, promised to pay 25 thousand rubles “in case of complete loss of property of the first necessity.” The authorities promise two thousand rubles for the loss of the harvest on the country plot. In the comments to the post, people are outraged by the amount of payments.

On August 12, in the city of Ussuriysk of the Primorsky Krai, a dam protecting the city from flooding broke due to a typhoon. It is known that three people died: including two children who were pulled into the sewer pipe. Residents of the region also report about dead animals, and a shelter was flooded in one of the villages.

According to the latest data of the regional Ministry of Emergencies, 28 settlements remain cut off by water, 4,620 residential houses, 5,555 private plots and 28 sections of roads are flooded. There is no electricity in three districts.

According to forecasters, another typhoon – “Lan” – will come to Primorsky Krai this week with a new series of torrential rains.
