The military prosecutor’s office did not find any facts confirming the beating of the Tuva people mobilized by the military in the Russian-occupied part of the Donetsk region of Ukraine. This was reported to RBC by Andrey Voronkin, assistant military prosecutor of the United Group of Forces. The criminal case after the conversion of the Tuvinians was not opened.
An appeal to the authorities complaining of violence by colleagues appeared at the beginning of February. “We were shot with machine guns. The military police came and beat us,” said a video posted on the Internet. They claimed that they came to the front almost without preparation and because of the confusion they were left without a command. However, the authors did not refuse to fight for the records.
The head of Tuva, Vladyslav Khovalyg, called the incident “an egregious case that discredits the position of the mobilized.” The former head of Tuva and vice-speaker of the State Duma, Sholban Kara-Ool, wrote that he was interrupting a business trip to Siberia for a business trip to Donetsk. After the incident, the Tuva authorities announced that the mobilized were included in the 55th motorized rifle brigade, which is stationed in Tuva.
The former commander of forces of the Donetsk separatists, Igor Strelkov (Strelkova), said in February that two deputy defense ministers, including the former head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, had arrived to investigate the incident. According to Strelkov, the mobilized rebelled when there was an attempt to transfer them from the rear to the front line near Avdeevka.
