The prosecutor’s office needed only the mandates of the independent deputies of Novosibirsk

The prosecutor’s office of the Novosibirsk region needed the remaining mandates of independent deputies of the Novosibirsk city council Helga Pirogov and Sergey Boyko. The agency cited the lack of a report on their income and property for 2022 as the reason.
The representative of the prosecutor’s office Helga Pirogov published on her Instagram. The letter states that the deputies did not submit a declaration to the city council’s anti-corruption commission. According to Pirogov, she reported her income, however, for unknown reasons, neither she nor her assistant accepted the document. The declaration was also mailed on time, she says.
Acting prosecutor of Novosibirsk, Vitaly Zulyn, believes that the lack of declarations “is an unconditional and unalternative basis for the termination of the deputy’s powers.” According to Pirogov, the decision to revoke mandates will be taken at the meeting of the city council’s anti-corruption commission on June 23.
“To be honest, I have almost no doubts about the decision of this commission. It’s terrible, but it seems that everyone has already gotten used to the fact that the law is not written for fools,” the deputy said in a comment to Sibir.Realii. The editors do not include Boiko’s comment.
