The Russian authorities of the Zaporozhye region intend to evacuate the inhabitants of a number of districts

Yevgeny Balytskyi, appointed by Russia as acting head of the Zaporozhye region, said that the Russian authorities are organizing the relocation of some of the region’s residents “from the front-line territories to the depths of the region.” As the reason for such a step, he called the increase of shelling from Ukraine.
“I made a decision to first of all remove children with their parents, elderly people, disabled people, patients of medical institutions from the enemy’s fire,” wrote Balytsky in a telegram. He named 18 settlements whose residents will be evacuated. Among them are the cities of Tokmak, Dneprorudnoe, Kamenka-Dneprovskaya, Pology, as well as Energodar, where the Zaporizhzhya NPP is located.
All these settlements are located on the territory occupied by Russia not far from the front line. Balytsky claims that “temporary relocation will be organized within the region”.
In February of last year, the decision on the so-called evacuation of residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, adopted by the then leaders of the separatist “DPR” and “LPR”, preceded a large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
